Now it's my birthday!

That's right! Sister had her birthday a couple weeks ago and today was mine! Mine was even better because I got to wear a tiara and have steak (that's because I'm a picky eater).

Happy Birthday to me!

I'm not a big fan of cake so Mom and Dad got me my favorite thing: STEAK!! And I even got to wear and reall cute tiara! Which was very fitting since I'm a princess and all.

I even let sister have some.

Birthday Girl!!

Sister was upset about not getting presents
I turned 3 today!! It was a very very exciting day! First, I got to play with my Bichon friend, Sammy. Then once I had a great, yummy dinner I got presents, a special doggie birthday bone, and an actual birthday cake! A real human birthday cake! I only got a small little bit, so it was ok. It was so fun. The only thing that was akward was the silly hat I had to wear. But mom said I looked cute.
I turned 3!

mmmm.. nom nom nom
That was soooo good!

Pumpkin Patch Fun

So, we're obviously a little late in posting this. We sure wish Mom would stop doing work on the laptop and let us use it every now and then.

Mom and Dad took us to Wemple's Pumpkin Patch in Milford a couple weeks ago to go romp through corn fields, frolic with farm animals, and pick a pumpkin.  We had so much fun with all the new sights and smells. We even got lost in a corn maze with Mom and Dad. Well, we actually new the way out because the family farm dog followed us in and seemed to be leading us, but Mom and Dad didn't listen to us telling them where do go and went their own way.

Lost in a Corn Maze

After the corn maze, we got to sniff the farm animals (those pigs stink!) and play with the family farm dog. We even got to go into the pumpkin fields and help pick a pumpkin. We didn't stay long because those mean ol' goatheads were hurting our paws. So Mom and Dad carried us out. We sure wish they saw the Little Red Wagons parked over by the entrance so they could pull us around, that would have been NEAT!

Katie gets hurt again..

Well, we haven't had much chance to post anything since my klutzy sister broker her dew claw...again.
Katie the klutz

This makes a total of 3 times (twice on the right, once on the left) so Mom and the vet decided it was best to go ahead and remove the whole toe. She broke the bone of the left side last year and it never grew back, so she only had the right one removed.

HAHA! Sister looks silly coming out of sedation.
The vet said the surgery went well, but she can't play fetch for 3 weeks (Lord help me she's going to drive me insane. Just give me a bone and let me rest in my kennel without being disturbed). And no swimming for a month (wonder if I can talk mom into taking just me...).

She had her stitches out the other day, but it looks infected. So Dad will take Sister back on monday. (I'll save you the stomach churn and NOT post the pic)

Also, everytime she isn't watched, she has to be put in that darn radar cone. "Cone of Shame" is what mom and dad call it because she looks so pitiful everytime they put her in it. Me? I don't mind it.. I thought it looked cute.
Katie's "Cone of Shame"
Once sister is all healed up, we'll be back in full action. Sit. Stay, and wait for us to come back.. and in the mean time....feel free to give us treats. :-) Love, Maggie

Toby, the ASL dog!

What our friends above are gesturing is American Sign Language (ASL) for "Good Dog". Why is this important? Because tonight at the park we met a dog who's name was Toby and his owners were deaf.

Toby (spelt in the letters to the left T-O-B-Y), who was a 7 month old Cockapoo, was at the park when we pulled up. His owner, who mom and dad had also seen last night at the park, signed that she was going to leave Toby to play while she ran home and got her older sister to help communicate. We had so much fun running and playing with Toby while mom and dad seemed to have a great conversation with the older sister.

Toby would run and chase me while I ran as fast as I could after my ball. Sister was walking around doing her usual sniffing and marking of the park and then even she got in the game and chased me, then chased Toby, then he turned the tables and chased her.  He had fun, and he made sure he told us so. He barked and bark and barked, then we chimed in and had the 3 Dog Barking Trio (we're thinking that's a good name for our acappella group)

Mom and Dad want to learn basic ASL so they can communicate next time we see them their, which we hope is real soon!
